Become a corporate supporter
Corporate social responsibility is an important element for many businesses who may be keen to support and give something back to their local community. Whilst The Elm Foundation receives some charitable funding, grants are becoming more scarce. We therefore need to look at other ways of raising money to continue our work.
Anyone can be affected by domestic abuse – a colleague, relative, friend or neighbour. Financial support is needed in every community to help people in such situations. You could make a huge difference to people in need.
Your company could sponsor a course of therapy, fund some of our essential clinics and advice sessions, or help us with the running costs of our support centre and refuges. The last thing we would ever want to do is limit or restrict the help we deliver to people in need, and funding is so important for us to continue our support.
We work with our corporate supporters by delivering training to staff members so that they’re able to help and support employees/colleagues experiencing domestic abuse. We also promote our partners’ brands to the wider community.
Donate to The Elm Foundation
The Elm Foundation is a charitable organisation that relies on the generosity of others to provide help to those in need. There are many ways that the general public can help to ensure the continuity of our services to those affected by domestic abuse.
As an individual, you could sponsor one of our events or sessions, or you could set up regular donations with your payroll department, so that your gift is given at source and is automatic. We can set this up for you.
You could donate company shares you may hold; again, we can help you with this. It doesn’t matter how little or how many shares you give, every donation helps us continue our work.
If you have already raised funds through an event or you simply wish to make a direct, one-off donation, we use the JustGiving platform to receive monies safely. Click the link below and follow the instructions from the JustGiving team to donate.
We can’t thank you enough for your support. Financial deprivation can be an element of control associated with domestic abuse; people looking to change/escape their situation may not have the means to do so. Your donations help us to keep our centre open, and they can also provide a new – safe – situation for women, men and children who are suffering right now.
We also welcome donations of clothes and household items for the people in our refuges and to also help those who are starting a new life away from their perpetrator.

Leave a gift in your will
As you can imagine, being a charitable organisation, funding is crucial to the running of our centre and refuges. You could help us deliver crucial support to people in need by leaving a legacy gift to The Elm Foundation in your will.
If your home and assets nudge you over the inheritance tax limit, consider whether you would rather give the extra to the taxman or to people in your community who are desperate for help. If you would like some help and advice on this subject, call 01246 540464 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Donate in memory
It’s an awful fact that a woman is killed through domestic abuse every three days in the UK. Donate in memory of a woman or man you know – or even someone you don’t know – to help a family that has had to pick up the pieces after such a tragedy. Help us as we try and stop more men, women and children losing their lives at the hands of their abusers.
Trusts and foundations
Thank you to our funding partners, who enable us to deliver our support across Chesterfield and Derbyshire to people affected by domestic abuse. We couldn’t help those in need without you and we truly appreciate your generosity.

Give in celebration
A woman dies every three days through domestic abuse. Every donation matters, however large or small. Celebrate someone’s life by making a donation on what would have been their birthday or other special day.
Would you like to become one of our volunteer fundraisers and make a real difference to people affected by domestic abuse within your community?
We are always in need of people willing to shake tins and pack bags in supermarkets on behalf of The Elm Foundation, as well as those who look to support charities as they run marathons and plan mountain hikes.
