Become a Volunteer

Students and volunteers

We have a team of students and volunteer counsellors offering counselling in humanistic, person-centred, CBT, integrative and psychodynamic counselling. We offer placements for students at diploma and degree level for counsellors to get the therapeutic hours they need to qualify.

Students and volunteers will be supported, managed and given appropriate training in the following areas: safeguarding, health and safety, self-awareness, psychosexual, child sexual and domestic abuse, PTSD and DID. Many students stay on and volunteer for The Elm Foundation once qualified as they work towards accreditation.

We have opportunities for student/volunteer art therapists who wish to work with children and adults; they can gain their client hours and HCPC registration. We also have opportunities for volunteers and students in reflexology, yoga, massage and mindfulness.
