YPVA

Young Persons Violence Advocate is a service for young people who are experiencing abuse within their own intimate relationships.

Young Persons Violence Advocate

The YPVA pathway is for victims of domestic violence and abuse where the person is under 18. The YPVA worker is specifically trained and accredited to support young people at high risk of serious harm from domestic abuse.

The service involves emotional, educational and practical support and is delivered over 8 to 12 sessions on a 1:1 basis in a setting where the young person feels safe. The support uses a specialist tool to conduct a risk assessment and complete a safety plan, involving multi-agency working to reduce the risk to the young person.

Please be aware, consent must be gained from the young person for the request for this service.
