We offer numerous student placements across our childrens and young people’s team, community outreach service, and therapeutic services.
We can offer placements for students at diploma and degree level and work closely with local universities. These placements often help to fulfil requirements for qualification particularly for counselling, health and social work students.

Our student care
Students are well supported and managed by student supervisors at The Elm Foundation and receive appropriate safeguarding, health & safety and domestic abuse training whilst on placement with us.
Many students have gone on the stay at the Elm Foundation as volunteers. Counselling students often volunteer hours to work towards their accreditation. Whilst other students have gone on the work for us, joining the Childrens and Young Peoples team, Community team and the Derbyshire DA Helpline service.
